About
Having grown up within the family business - C W Sellors Fine Jewellery - Rebecca generated an interest and fascination with the jewellery industry from an early age.
With going on to study at Birmingham School of Jewellery for three years, Rebecca graduated receiving a First Class Honours from the Jewellery and Silversmithing BA Design for Industry Degree Course. In amongst the many valuable hands-on skills, and developing a talent for CAD (Computer Aided Design), it allowed for valuable study time ‘at the bench’ resulting in the production of many unique pieces, including modern silverware designs and award-winning jewellery collections.
Since finishing at Birmingham School of Jewellery in 2013, Rebecca has provided innovative and new designs to the jewellery portfolio of the family business. Not only do her contemporary designs offer a wonderful individual perspective on jewellery creation, they also manage to capture a commercial appeal which spans a wide audience - a much sought-after combination, which is rarely achievable.
Much of Rebecca’s influence in jewellery design was, and still is, drawn from the three years spent in the vibrant and eclectic surroundings of Birmingham, where she still has strong links with the School of Jewellery and now based only a few miles up the road in Ashbourne, Derbyshire. In her own words - "I like to draw my inspiration from architecture, nature and patterns, and the structural forms within them. Creating innovative and stylish designs that are influenced by modern technology and combining them with traditional handcrafting skills. Although this may sound a little industrial, I am passionate about designing and handcrafting unique, striking pieces of British jewellery with a feminine edge."
Alongside putting together new boutique collections, Rebecca has worked on a variety of new project designs which have included special collections for St Paul’s Cathedral, Derbyshire Wildlife Trust and Chatsworth House.
